Towering waves crash into the cliff faces at Cape Solander during a morning of high swell. Ocean mist spray diffuses the morning light in the background, creating a soft, warm quality in the image that contrasts with the cooler ocean foreground in shadow. I used a slow shutter speed of 1/10th of a second to capture wave movement, along with a narrow aperture to emphasise the sunstar, which appears just as the sun is peeking into the frame.
