Orb Weaver Spider.
Orb Weaver Spider

I spotted this tiny spider on the end of a snapped twig during a hike in Tasmania. I did some online research and found out this is a Garden Orb Spider. During the day they often retreat and assume a resting position as seen here, but they are nocturnal and construct intricate orb-shaped webs at night. I captured this pose using an entry level 18-55mm crop-sensor lens and a cheap close-up filter.
